LogLogic Announces U.S. Patent for Storage of Raw Log Data
SAN JOSE, Calif. — December 2, 2009 — LogLogic®, the leader in log and security management solutions, today announced that the company has been granted U.S. Patent 7599939 – a system and method for storing raw log data.
The patented system collects logs from network devices and analyzes and stores the data contained in those logs. The patent also covers LogLogic’s management console, which allows users to search and run reports on log data. By acknowledging that LogLogic’s system is unique, the patent recognizes LogLogic’s seminal innovation in the industry and its pioneering first step in advancing log management technology. In addition to this latest patent, LogLogic has many other patents currently pending before the United States Patent Office.
When LogLogic was founded in 2002, log management was a nascent technology, and the security and business intelligence contained in logs went largely untapped by businesses. Logs contain virtually everything that administrators need to know about their networks, their systems and devices that connect to the network. The business and technology challenge is how to capture the terabytes of raw log data produced each day by the average enterprise data center and, in near real-time, drill down to surface only the most important business information. LogLogic and its groundbreaking technology have been integral in helping enterprises worldwide harness the power of logs for security, compliance, operational efficiency and other mission-critical applications.
“LogLogic is proud to be a pioneer in log management software,” said Guy Churchward, CEO of LogLogic. “This patent is a testament to the hard work and innovation of our team, who have helped thousands of organizations around the globe to monitor their networks and secure sensitive data.”
“LogLogic’s patent represents a milestone in the evolution of the industry,” said Jason DeStefano, a LogLogic founder and one of two inventors named in the patent. “In less than a decade, log management has evolved from a young, homegrown invention into one of the most powerful and necessary security tools for the enterprise. This patent has been more than five years in the making, and although LogLogic continues to innovate and expand its product line, this patented core of log management remains the foundation of everything we do.”
LogLogic’s patent application was filed in 2004 and granted on October 6, 2009. For more information about Patent 7599939, please visit: www.patentstorm.us.
